It will make a pretty stiff, heavy neck but I am not telling you anything you wouldn't already know. So I've been seeing this "Jatoba" material a lot more lately, especially in mid-tier basses. I can't seem to find much online about it being used as a fretboard material other than people talking about the color, which I could care less about. From a visual point of view I don't actually mind the fairly prominent wood grains at all, and the fretboard still feels perfectly smooth and nice to play on (maybe even slightly smoother than my rosewood fretboards), and the darker color than usually seen in Jatoba wood actually is even a plus for me from a visual point of view, just worried if it might be an indication that the quality of I read somewhere that a guy had a jatoba fretboard on one of his guitars, and when it was exposed to a lot of sunlight, it got darker. Anyone had any similar experience or comment on this?
